AGHA KHAN Medical University Entrance Test Aga Khan University Medical College is one of the top rated medical colleges of Pakistan. An annual Entrance Test is held for admission in M.B.B.S program of the University, usually in the month of March (subject to change).
More than five thousand students, from Pakistan & overseas, annually compete for a total of 100 available seats (subject to change).
For medical students in Pakistan, Entrance Test of Aga Khan Medical College is usually the first Entrance test of the year. It is the lengthiest and, in my opinion, the toughest entrance test among all the others. Entrance Exam is carried out in all the major cities including Karachi, Lahore & Rawalpindi. Selection in the written test leads to a series of interviews, only after which the final selection is carried out.
Unlike all the other medical colleges which have the eligibility criteria of at least 60% marks in F.Sc/A' level (equivalence), AKU requires you to score at least 65% or higher, in F.Sc/A' level (equivalence), in order to be eligible to sit in its Entrance Exam.
Structure Of Entrance Test:
As is mentioned above, it is a lengthy test. So for the Aga Khan Entrance Test, managing time efficiently is very important & can give you a vital breakthrough. The test has been divided into two papers, an English paper & Science paper (including mathematics). It is an MCQ based test, however the English paper also contains two writing questions. The science paper is further divided into five sections namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science Reasoning and Maths.
The structure and pattern of the entrance test can vary from year to year, so for latest details log on to aku.edu Type Of Questions:
The Entrance test has the best standard of questions among all the other tests. The English section is challenging, specially for F.Sc. students. Most of the Science section and almost all of the general (Science reasoning & Maths) section is concept based (questions based on the core concept of a topic). Keeping in sight, the two educational systems, questions are made quite generally, enabling the students of both the systems to answer equally well, though F.Sc. students do need to work hard on their English, if they aim to do well in the test.
Recommended Books:
I would like to recommend Barron's SAT for English preparation and respective course books (F.Sc & A' Levels) for Science preparation. A' Level students do not need to study F.Sc. books for the test. Similarly, F.Sc students do not need to study A'levels books in order to prepare for the test. Barron's SAT available for Chemistry, Physics & Biology can also be a suitable choice for science preparation and practising. |
